Loved the animation and the way characters were drawn. However, the humor felt like a kid trying to do stand-up comedy for the first time.

I wouldnt call it bad stand up but theres some validity to what you said
Well, how about some SPOILER ALERT stuff on the description -.-
It didn't really impress me. Sure, it has 3D animation and........and.......actually that is all I can say about this. 3D animation. Nothing else.
I've seen better interpretations of the same story, somebody losing someone and can't cope with it.
This cartoon has nothing new, nothing interesting, nothing that would make me watch it the second time. I feels bland.
It seems to me that showing 3D graphics were more important then telling a story in this cartoon, and that is not a good way to approach animation in my opinion.
This just keeps getting more and more complicated. So many characters, so many unanswered questions, yet it still has a focus on a main storyline, and that is interaction and relationship between five main characters.
I liked this episode simply because it was shorter than the others, or at least it felt like that. Making it shorter also made it more focused.
Animation is great as always. Seriously, how do you manage to make episodes in such short time? Well, short time for a web series on Newgrounds. I've seen so many series where they make one-two episodes and then a hiatus, but you just keep going. Just for that fact alone I will give you 5/5 stars.
Can't wait to see the Gemini Tournament :)
Now that was funny. It started a bit on the meh side with the missing dog, the joke didn't quite work for me, the meteor strike was "ok, what just happened?", and when it finished, that last bit, it cracked me up. Great work :D
This has to be one of the best, if not the best cartoon on Newgrounds. The animation and artwork is gorgeous to look at, the world is brilliantly whimsical, the characters are very lovable, the music is epic and relaxing at the same time, the story and moral are perfect, and all that without a single word from the characters. Amazing. Also, that tease at the end is brilliant.
Simply put, it is a perfect cartoon :)
I would LOVE to see more shorts based on Calvin and Hobbes. Very well made.
How long did it take to make this?
The Meh Escape? More li The Meh Episode!....sorry for the pun :P
But seriously, this wasn't very funny. Captain Stalwart is a douche which is supposed to be funny, but it falls flat. Gamma Wiz's henchmen are annoying. Even in just a cameo Seymour and Chronomonator are way better characters then any of ones introduced in this episode.
However, the animation is superb and it proves that you are still one of the greatest animators on Newgrounds.
I really hope the next one will be funnier.
One question, how do you get those thick, smooth black lines on characters? I assume you use tablet but is there any special method or do you just draw carefully? I never managed to get such lines with my tablet :S
Sorry it didn't strike your fancy. I think the script for Episode 3 is funnier. Guess we'll see.
I use a tablet with pressure sensitivity turned on and smoothing set to 40. Then just use a nice thick brush to draw with.
What kind of a shitty advice is that?
This was awesome. The humor, the pacing, the twists, the voice acting, the animation, my god, everything was just incredible.
I wasn't a big fan of the first episode but this minisode gives me high hopes for the second episode.
Great work and keep it up :D
Just a regular guy making cartoons to entertain people :)
